Sonja Boezak
Sonja's work focuses on strategic facilitation and experiential learning; providing policy advisory services and technical assistance; undertaking evaluations and reviews; and strategy development for transformative social change.
Her work includes facilitating sensitive and strategic engagements and dialogues, using creative and feminist
practices to support reflection, research, learning and curriculum development for transformative social change.
Her approach is holistic and infuses creativity and innovation in how she supports advancing more just, equitable and respectful societies.
She has more than 25 years of experience using participatory and feminist lenses for gender equality, womxn’s and girls’ rights and empowerment, communications for change, and social inclusion of marginalised groups. She works at different levels of influence and engagement, including with NGOs, INGOs, academic institutions, international development, and research organisations.
Sonja has substantial experience designing integrated, context-appropriate strategies, action plans, research and evaluation frameworks, and conducting and managing research and evaluations including multi-country, complex assignments (using qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodologies).
She holds an MA in Philosophy from Stellenbosch University, South Africa; has published extensively and made documentary films in some of her areas of interest.
